Description
Loved for its two distinct modes of dynamic control and legendary for its sweet and musical sound quality, the vintage Neve 609 diode-bridge compressor/limiter remains among the most highly desired pieces of studio hardware worldwide. However, due to the scarcity and high demand for vintage examples, the 609’s performance character has been inaccessible to all but the most well-funded producers and studios.
In some of the most exciting Pro-Audio-related news of 2024, Behringers design engineers (including alums from Rubert Neves team ) announced the creation and availability of the 369 2-channel Stereo Compressor/Limiter. So much more than a digital interpretation or hardware-based look-alike, the 369 faithfully recaptures the performance character of the near-mythical stereo bus compressor in an affordable accessible package.
Outstanding in broadcasting and music production applications, the Behringer 369 boasts a completely discrete signal path with specially crafted MIDAS input/output transformers for vintage-accurate performance results. The control surface features independent limiter and compressor sections with dual mono-capabilities or linked stereo mode for a very flexible range of sonic possibilities. Each section has a detailed range of controllability with a 2-way toggle switch for fast/slow attack times and threshold/recovery time controls, plus ratio and makeup gain controls on each individually usable compressor.
