Description
Grab the detachable left-hand expression controller, strap on the MS-1 MKII, and step out from behind the keyboard rack and into the spotlight–like Devo, The Prodigy, and The Chemical Brothers! Despite the fun factor and showmanship potential, it’s far more than a Key-tar or a simple 80s-inspired novelty. The Behringer MS-1 RD is a formidable, 32-key vintage-style analog mono-synth–upgraded with digital connectivity, pro features, and amazingly affordable. Like its vintage counterpart, the MS-1 MK II can deliver a fantastic range of classic analog tone-shaping flexibility. Use your ears and imagination to operate the 57 intuitively laid-out dials and sliders to control the completely analog pathway. Even with limited or no experience using old-school analog controls, youll quickly revisit (or create) thick and screaming lead sounds, punchy bass lines, and otherworldly effects.
Vintage-style analog sound generation starts with Behringers re-created 3340 Curtis-style chip-driven oscillator. This VCO can generate up to 4 simultaneously mixable waveforms over a 4-octave range, giving your creativity plenty of room to flow. At the heart of things, the MS-1 MKIIs incredibly flexible VCF features fader-style controls for Frequency, Resonance, Envelope, Modulation, and Keyboard-follow sliders for quickly zeroing in and tweaking your sound. The Filter can be modulated with ADSR, LFO, keyboard tracking, and a bender controller, multiplying sonic possibilities and ease of use. ASDR (Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release) control faders give you a graphic-style view of your control over each notes shape for sculpting tones with a hammer-like snap– or a softly bowed violin.
The MS-1-RD is equipped with a programmable 32-step sequencer that can recall up to 64 patterns stored in 8 banks of preset buttons, plus an 8-pattern Arpeggiator that can be triggered by any chord you play. The MD-1 MK is also updated with 32 full-sized, semi-weighted, velocity-sensitive keys, a noise generator, portamento, MIDI In/Out/Thru, a USB port, a detachable left-hand expression controller, and a guitar strap!
