Description
Since the late 70s, Drum Machines have become an indispensable force that has changed how we write, arrange, and produce modern music and driven new genres and styles. Since then, only a handful of beat-making devices have achieved such a long-lasting impact as the legendary 909. With great attention to detail and reverence, Behringers RD-9 revives the essence of the now priceless vintage icon. Priced unbelievably lower than the original 909 at introduction back in 83 and unfathomably lower than a vintage example–the RD-9 is affordable to everyone who wants the complete 909 experience.
Like the original, the RD-9 mixes digital samples with analog-based technology to drive its unmistakable sounds, which are at the heart of many diverse styles, including Techno, Chicago House, New Wave, Hip-Hop, countless film scores, and more. Also, like the original–the RD-9 is equipped with MIDI In and Out and individual outputs for each of the 11 original drum sounds (including the infamous and essential mix-busting bass drum) for tons of control options. Along with its classic sounds, at the heart of the TR-9 is one of the most potent analog step sequencers ever made. Store up to 16 songs and 256 patterns that can be imported or exported during playback for unlimited songs and patterns. The variable swing function provides the continuous subtle inconsistency that mimics the sound, especially the feel of an actual drummer.
True to Behringer form, the RD-9 introduces some welcome modern capabilities without sacrificing the vintage charm and identity of the vaunted classic. Now, you can control the pitch and pitch depth of the bass drum and tuning of the high hat and control and trigger individual sounds with your DAW via USB. Additionally, each sequencer mode includes step repeat, note repeat, real-time triggering, and live step-overdubbing controls for recording in pattern mode, building song structures, and switching back to playback mode in real-time.
