Description
There has never been a more exciting time for fans of pre-digital synthesis since the late 1960s and early 1970s when synths were first developed and employed in popular music. Since 2016, when Behringer unveiled its first analog synth, its never been more affordable to own and explore the world of classic analog, digital, and hybrid synths. For the adventurous musician who desires a deeper dive into the unique and unlimited possibilities that modular architecture synthesizer systems provide–Behringer has you covered with a wide range of Euro-rack compatible solutions. From complete modular systems like the Behringer System-55 to a vast selection of individual voltage-controlled oscillators, filters, envelopes, amplifiers, sequencers, triggers, and even digital modules, Behringer offers everything needed for the player who wants to build a truly unique and personalized system.
Abacus opens up a world of possibilities and is an excellent addition to any large or small modular synth set-up. Vintage synth enthusiasts will recognize its similarities with the Don Buchla design 257 and 281 control voltage processors of the early 1970s. The Abacus can be used as a mixer, envelope, attenuator, sound-generating oscillator, and more. Up to 4 individual control voltages can be combined to generate complex modulations, control the envelope, amplify and invert incoming signals, and create portamento and other effects limited only by your imagination.
The control surface features 4 CV ins, 4 triggers, rise and fall, an Attenuator inverter, cycle controls, and enough ins and outs for complex sound generation functions and connectivity options.
